Air Academy won the girls team title in its first season competing in Class 5A, placing five scorers in the top 30 to secure a 63-126 victory against Mountain Vista at the Colorado High School Activities Association state championship meet at Norris Penrose Events Center in Colorado Springs. Tessa Walter covered the 5-kilometer course in 17:50.3 to finish fifth, followed by Bethany Michalak clocking 18:02.1 to secure sixth for Air Academy, which last won a girls team title in Class 4A in 2015. Jordan Banta was 15th in 18:44.4 and Emily Beers took 17th in 18:47.8 for the Kadets, who had Lauren Myers place 29th in 19:12.5. Olivia Chura earned 62nd in 19:56.5 and Sofia Kunstle was 116th in 21:05.8 for the Kadets, who finished fourth last season in Class 4A.
